We will depart from our base and head to the northern region of the Pieria province.
After traveling for 10 kilometers, and driving a long distance on sand roads, our 4 x 4 vehicles will arrive to the wetland of Alikes. Here, we will observe the flora and we’ll be able to photograph flamingos, wild ducks and many other birds.
Next, we’ll go to the “pans” of Alikes for a mud bath, followed by a swim in the sea. For anyone wishing to, at this stop you will have a chance to drink a coffee or have a meal from the food truck right by the seaside.
We will continue our visit to the archeological site of Pydna where there is an amazing view of the blue waters of the Thermaikos Gulf.
On our way back, we will travel through the traditional fisher town of Makrygialos. Returning to our base we will be able to watch the sun set behind the Pieria mountains, the mountains of the Muses.
